Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training, National Skill Testing Committee (NSTB) According to the National Vocational Skill Certificate approved by Skill Testing Board-NSTB), NSTB/NVQS will operate at a concessional fee towards regulars who want to participate in the skill test based on the recognition of prior learning, employment in the country.
This notice has been published for the information of all those concerned to attend the skill test center and submit the application form according to the details of the experienced Nepali citizens who have returned from foreign employment. NSTB is an authorized institution having wide experience and mandate for national level skill testing and certification. It was established in 1983 as an autonomous body named Skill Testing Authority (STA) with an aim of providing the job seekers, skilled and semi-skilled individuals with recognized certificates on specific skills.

NSTB Skill Testing Required Qualification/ Training & Experience:
For Level 1
Having at least 1 year of work experience in the related profession with the knowledge and skills of the related business,
or Having 6 months work experience including training in related business.
For Level 2
Having at least 3 years of work experience in the related profession with the knowledge and skills of the related business,
or Having passed the level 1 skill test in the related business and having 1 year of work experience in the related business.
For Level 3
Having at least 5 years of work experience in the related profession with the knowledge and skills of the related business,
Or having 1 year training in related business and 2 years work experience in related business,
or Having passed level 2 skill test in related business and having 1 year work experience in related business.
It has been functioning as the secretariat of National Skill Testing Board (NSTB). NSTB operates its activities under the management of CTEVT and is fully equipped with increasing degree of autonomy with strong leadership and professional standing in skill testing and certification process.
Many people in Nepal cannot complete their elementary/basic education because of multi-faceted socio-economic disparities. The alarming illiteracy rate and lack of technical skills is forcing large mass of people into the unending cycle of poverty, unemployment, economic dependency and massive migration of youths for foreign employment.
NSTB in this connection has been equipping a rapidly growing number of young men and women with recognition of their competencies by means of official certificates and thus improving their chances in the labour market and in self employment within and beyond country and laddering them to higher level training and education.
NSTB National Skill Testing- Conditions to be followed while filling the application form by the participant in skill test
- This notification and application form can be downloaded from the website of the National Skill Testing Board (NSTB) (www.nstb.org.np) and can be obtained from designated centers.
- The application form should be submitted to the designated center within 2081/09/11. If the last day of submitting the application form falls on a holiday, it can be submitted till the next day.
- 2 copies of the same recent passport size photograph along with the application form, citizenship certificate and certificate of training or experience (Training
In case of certificate, CTEVT member, partner and related profession issued by relevant educational institution and issued by various ministries and departments of Government of Nepal, at least 1 year ago only) and in case of experience, Government of Nepal, government or semi-government organization or registered PAN in Government of Nepal or A clearly disclosed period of time during which the private employer organization/industry practitioner having received VAT number has worked or is engaged in the relevant profession/business
A certified copy of the certificate or letter must be submitted. Only experience after 16 years of age will be considered. - Concessional categories include women, Dalits, tribals, persons with disabilities, and categories designated by the Government of Nepal. Documents certified by the relevant agency must be submitted for categories other than women.
- When filling the application form, a person who has returned from foreign employment must submit a copy of the work experience abroad (translated into English if it is a language other than English), a copy of the passport and visa.
- The documents required for the skill test are insufficient and the application forms which are not registered and not delivered within the specified time will be automatically cancelled. 7. If the number of accepted application forms in a business is less than three, the skill test of that business will not be conducted.
- The date of skill test will be informed to the applicant through SMS. The participant can get the admit card within the day before the skill test by attending the center where the skill test application form is filled. The skill test can be conducted from the next day of the contact date.
- Candidates have to bring their own hand tools/equipment required for the related profession. Candidates of LAPTOP skill test should bring the test materials and model person and enterprise development facilitator in the case of professions of Vutician and Barber. In addition, personal health safety standards must be fully followed.
- Candidates who have participated in skill test before this, registration no. Must be mentioned. In this way, those who have retaken the skill test will have to mark the space called retest on the top of the application form.
- Applicants who have passed the lower level in the relevant business must submit the skill certificate they have obtained as well as the work experience letter when applying for the higher level. Applicants can only apply for one level or profession.
- The skill test for the occupation mentioned in this notice will be conducted at the certified or designated skill test centers under the respective provinces.
- After paying Rs. 150.-, the successful candidates will be able to get the skill certificate and skill identification card.
